Making home vision training stick
What vision training delivers depends almost entirely on frequency and duration -- short, regular daily sessions beat occasional marathons.
A fixed time of day works best: tie the training to an existing routine, such as before the after-school snack or between dinner and toothbrushing. Keep it up for about two weeks and it becomes the household default.
Let the child see their own progress: scores, curves and streaks are natural reinforcers. Praise finishing today's session, not just high scores.
The first two weeks of sitting alongside matter most: help the child wear the glasses straight, sit properly and keep the right screen distance, then step back gradually.
Rest whenever tiredness or dizziness appears during training; on an off day, a shortened session still beats skipping the day entirely.
